The journey
Delhi is not just about monuments and famous landmarks—it is about the stories hidden in its streets. Every lane has its own character, from bustling markets and historic neighbourhoods to modern cafés and colourful walls. Walking through the streets of Delhi felt like exploring different worlds, each with its own charm.
I spent my day wandering through the old lanes of Chandni Chowk, where the aroma of street food, the sound of rickshaws, and the colourful shops created an unforgettable atmosphere. Every corner was busy with people, local vendors, and centuries-old buildings that reflected Delhi's rich history.
As I explored further, I visited Connaught Place, where colonial architecture meets modern cafés, bookstores, and shopping streets. It was the perfect place to take a break, enjoy a cup of coffee, and watch the city move around me.
One of my favourite parts of the day was simply walking without a fixed destination. I discovered hidden murals, quiet lanes, local markets, and small food stalls serving some of the best snacks I had ever tasted. Every street had a different story, and every turn offered something unexpected.
The evening brought a completely different vibe. The markets became brighter, food stalls became busier, and the city felt even more alive. Sitting at India Gate later that night with an ice cream in hand and watching families, friends, and tourists enjoying the evening was the perfect way to end the day.
Delhi isn't a city that can be understood in a single visit. It is a place that surprises you every time you step into a new street. My journey through its lanes gave me memories, flavours, conversations, and experiences that I will always remember.
