Coorg — Coffee Hills, Road Trips and Friends

The journey

Our trip to Coorg was the kind of getaway we had been talking about for weeks. After several plans, cancelled dates, and endless discussions in the group chat, we finally packed our bags and headed towards the hills. The moment we entered Coorg, the cool weather, green landscapes, winding roads, and coffee plantations made the long journey feel completely worth it.

We stayed in a cosy place surrounded by greenery, which gave us the perfect break from busy city life. Our mornings started slowly with fresh air, warm coffee, and everyone taking much longer than expected to get ready. Even though we had planned to leave early for sightseeing, someone was always searching for their charger, another person was still getting ready, and the rest of us were busy deciding where to eat.

We explored the beautiful coffee plantations and learned more about how coffee is grown and processed. Walking through the green estate, surrounded by tall trees and the smell of fresh coffee, was one of the most peaceful parts of the trip. Of course, we also spent more time taking group photographs than actually listening to the guide.

One of the highlights was visiting **Abbey Falls**. The sound of the water, the greenery around us, and the cool weather made the place feel refreshing. We also explored **Raja’s Seat**, where we enjoyed the views and spent time relaxing together. As the sun began to set, the hills looked even more beautiful.

We visited **Dubare Elephant Camp** and enjoyed being close to nature. The journey between places was just as fun as the destinations. Music played in the car, everyone had different song requests, and there were friendly arguments over who had the best playlist.

The evenings were our favourite. After a full day of exploring, we sat together, shared food, laughed about the day, and remembered old stories. Some of the funniest moments happened at the hotel, where even small things became entertaining because we were all together.

Coorg gave us peaceful views, fresh coffee, beautiful roads, waterfalls, and a much-needed break. But the best part was the time we spent together. The jokes, unexpected delays, group photos, and long conversations made the trip more memorable than any single attraction.

We returned with tired legs, hundreds of photographs, and a group chat full of messages about planning the next trip—even though we had already started arguing about where to go next.
