Third Wheeling in Mussoorie... But Make It a Weekend to Remember

So technically... this was supposed to be my bhaiya and bhabhi's cute little mountain getaway.

And then... I joined.

Before anyone judges me, I like to believe I wasn't third wheeling... I was simply providing entertainment. 😌 (At least that's what I keep telling myself.)

It was a quick 2-day weekend trip to Mussoorie, and honestly, it was the perfect escape from city life. We left early in the morning, and as soon as the roads started winding through the hills, the mood instantly changed. Good weather, mountain views, and a playlist that somehow kept switching between romantic songs and absolute nonsense because I kept hijacking the music.

The funniest part was how I kept pretending to give them "couple space." I'd dramatically walk a little ahead and say, "Acha you guys enjoy your romantic walk, I'll just disappear." Five minutes later I'd be back asking, "Guys... who's hungry?"

Mall Road was obviously our first stop. We wandered through little shops, tried local snacks, bought things nobody actually needed, and somehow spent twenty minutes deciding whether to buy matching mugs. My bhabhi was patiently shopping while bhaiya and I were already looking for the nearest café.

We also took the ropeway to Gun Hill, and the views were honestly unreal. Standing there with the mountains all around us made us forget every pending email and work notification. Of course, I still managed to photobomb at least half of their cute couple pictures. Purely by accident... obviously.

One evening we found this cosy café with a mountain view, ordered coffee, momos, and way too many desserts. The original plan was to spend an hour there, but we ended up sitting for almost three because the conversations just kept going. We laughed about old family stories, childhood memories, and roasted my bhaiya for things only siblings can get away with.

The best joke throughout the trip was that I had apparently come only to spoil their "me time." Every time they started walking together, I'd randomly appear beside them saying, "Family selfie?" By the end of the trip, even bhabhi started joking that I was their officially adopted travel companion.

The next morning we visited Kempty Falls before heading back. The weather was cool, the roads were beautiful, and honestly none of us wanted the weekend to end. Two days felt way too short, but somehow they were enough to completely refresh us.

Looking back, Mussoorie wasn't just about the mountains or the sightseeing. It was about family, endless teasing, hot coffee in cold weather, and making memories that we'll laugh about every time someone mentions "couple trip."

And yes... next time I'll totally let them have their romantic vacation.
